More Information

Great news for our community! Starting October 1, 2025, the Arab Public Library will no longer charge overdue fines on any of our physical materials. The Board of Trustees and Director Tanya Alexander are excited to make the library even more welcoming and accessible for everyone.

What This Means for You

This change is part of our mission to remove barriers and ensure all residents can use our services without worrying about late fees. We understand that every dollar counts, and we want to make sure no one has to choose between essential needs and the joy of reading.

While overdue fines are a thing of the past, please remember:

·  Replacement fees for lost or damaged items will still apply. If a lost item is found and returned in good condition, all charges will be removed.

·  Overdue notices will still be sent as a friendly reminder to return items so others can enjoy them.

Discover More Than Just Books

Our library is a vibrant community hub with so much to offer, and we invite you to explore everything we have. In addition to our wide selection of books and audiobooks, you can use our:

·  Public access computers

·  Digital resources like the Libby app for e-books and audiobooks, Kanopy for video streaming, and the Alabama Virtual Library

·         Faxing, printing, and copying services

·         Fun Family Programs for all ages (lego club, book clubs, storytime, teen Tuesday, crochet, and more)

Whether you’re looking for a new story, a quiet place to work, or a fun family activity, the Arab Public Library is here for you. Stop by and see what’s new - we can’t wait to see you!
